Sixth Grade's Recent Adventures

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6 [NKJV])

Last week, the CHS Class of 2028 and their parents had the opportunity to experience what has become an annual tradition for each sixth-grade class. The Purity Retreat is a full day set aside for parents and their children to dig deep into Biblical truths regarding purity and explore essential topics that surround teens and growing up in today’s world. Students and their parents enjoyed a jam-packed day including instructional sessions led by local community pastors, activities, and a time of prayer over the hearts and lives of our youth.

Sixth-grade students also had the opportunity to visit the Junior Achievement (JA) Discovery Center of Greater Dalton last week. This particular JA Discovery Center is the first of its kind outside of a major, metropolitan city, and Dalton is the smallest community to host a discovery center. Inside, middle school students experience storefronts that are prototypes of local businesses and meet volunteers who share their real-world knowledge and perspective. Students have the opportunity to learn how businesses work and their role in the economy while being exposed to various local career pathways, learning how to manage money, and utilizing business plans and budgets.

What a life giving week for our Lions!
