CHS Upper School Outreach to the World

Every year we endeavor to be involved in an outreach to our school, to our community and to our world as an entire high school. We will be serving a Thanksgiving Feast and providing entertainment for the middle school and elementary the day before Thanksgiving holidays. We have taken part in the Red Cross Blood Drive here at our school and provided over 70 pints of blood to our community (with a little help from our friends—THANKS MOMS AND DADS!!). At Christmas time it has been our tradition to go to the Samaritan’s Purse Warehouse in Atlanta and help pack boxes for distribution to needy children around the world. This year, however, we are not able to be a part of that ministry so we began looking for another place that we could serve and we found one!

We are going to partner with Justin Hair (one of our alums) and Studio 360 to send boxes to our military troops overseas. Justin served our country in Iraq and after his return home started this ministry to serve his fellow troops overseas still. We will be collecting items at the school, delivering them to be boxed, boxing them up and helping to mail them. Starting with chapel this week, we will be collecting donations to help mail the boxes and receiving donations of the items in the MPR and high school hallway. A list of “best items” to donate will be included in the newsletter this week and then it will be available on the CHS website and the school offices. Wednesday, December 3rd will be out cut off day and the day that we will help box up the packages. Thanks for helping with this project!
