Good Samaritan Kids / Families
Each year in chapel we give our elementary students and their families a chance to be Good Samaritans! Every week one student or family will make a 3-5 minute presentation on a community service experience they have had. No one is required to participate, but we encourage everyone to do so as a way for families to be involved in the community together. Here is what you need to do:
- Commit as a family to do some type of community service project, either once or ongoing. You may choose something from the list of suggestions below or come up with your own ideas. Many families participate in something at their churches.
- Fill out the permission slip and return it to school as soon as possible or call Mrs. Burkett to sign up. Only students who have permission from their parents will be chosen.
- Plan to do your project or begin your project as soon as possible. Remember, we want your child(ren) to be involved in it as much as possible. You will be given a schedule and a reminder a week ahead that your date is coming up.
- Take pictures of your family doing the project to make a poster about your project.
- The Wednesday before your turn as Good Samaritan Kid you will receive a sheet of instructions home. Make a poster and plan the presentation. You can share a Scripture verse, tell about the experience, present a skit, or use some type of visual aide, remembering the 3-5 minute time frame.
- Come to chapel on your Wednesday ready to share how God blessed others through you!
